Step 4: Where can I find scholarships?
Although most student aid comes in the form of federal education loans and grants from colleges, scholarships — with their lure of "free money" — get a huge amount of attention from students and their parents. Organizations of all types and sizes sponsor college scholarships — leave no stone unturned. Explore categories you might not have considered, such as religious, community service, fraternal, military, union, and professional scholarships.
Welcome to the College Board's Scholarship Search!
We created this online tool to help you locate scholarships, internships, grants, and loans that match your education level, talents, and background. Complete the brief questionnaire and Scholarship Search will find potential opportunities from our database of more than 2,300 sources of college funding, totaling nearly $3 BILLION in available aid!
Keep in mind that the more accountal information you enter, the better the odds that Scholarship Search will be able to match you to financial aid sources. So don't be shy and be sure to complete all the sections of the questionnaire.
Note: The scholarships are all annual scholarships, and application deadlines roll over from year to year.
All of the scholarship information is based on the College Board's Annual Survey of Financial Aid Programs, which is mailed out to over 1,200 sponsoring organizations each year. The information you see was collected this past spring. If you'd like to participate in the survey or need to update your scholarship information, please email us.
We've made every effort to display scholarship information accurately and completely. However, sponsoring organizations may have changed policies, awards, deadlines, or requirements since supplying their information. For the most up-to-date information, please contact the scholarship program before applying.
